The 6-Hour Mountain Running Challenge will take place on Friday, 7 August 2026, in Al Jabal Al Akhdar, one of the most renowned mountain destinations in the Sultanate of Oman. Located within the Al Hajar Mountain range at an elevation of over 2,000 meters above sea level, Al Jabal Al Akhdar is famous for its pleasant climate, breathtaking landscapes, deep valleys, terraced farms, and scenic mountain trails.

The challenge is a time-based event rather than a fixed-distance race, where all participants start simultaneously and aim to cover the greatest possible distance within six continuous hours. The race will be conducted on a 5-kilometer loop course, featuring varied mountain terrain, including ascents, descents, and elevation changes, with one aid station available on the course to provide water and basic refreshments for participants throughout the event.

The course is designed to simulate real mountain racing conditions and provide a true test of endurance, resilience, and race management skills. The event is intended to help runners develop their endurance, pacing, energy management, and nutrition strategies while preparing for the upcoming racing season. Due to its high altitude, Al Jabal Al Akhdar offers cooler temperatures than most parts of Oman during this time of year, along with refreshing mountain air and spectacular panoramic views, creating a unique and memorable race experience.

To ensure participant safety and preparedness, all runners are required to carry essential equipment, including a cap or hat, a trail running backpack, trail running shoes, soft flasks or a suitable hydration system, a sports watch, an emergency whistle, a fully charged mobile phone, a waterproof jacket, and sufficient energy gels or nutrition supplies to sustain them throughout the six-hour challenge. The use of one or two trekking poles is also recommended to assist with climbing and descending on mountainous terrain.

The Run as One – Abu Dhabi 2 is a fun and inspiring community challenge where every participant contributes towards a series of shared distance milestones. Over two hours, runners complete as many 1.5km laps as they choose, with every lap adding to the community total. Together, you'll celebrate reaching iconic distances that represent some of the UAE's most notable journeys and achievements—from the 150km journey between Al Ain and Abu Dhabi (469 laps), to the 306km distance of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix (957 laps), and ultimately the incredible 600km journey representing all Seven Emirates (1,875 laps). Every lap counts, regardless of pace or ability, proving that when a community runs together, extraordinary things happen. While the focus is on achieving these collective milestones, there will also be recognition for the individuals who cover the greatest distance. Whether you complete one lap or one hundred, you'll be helping the community reach its next milestone—because together, we Run as One.

This is not a timed race, it's a community challenge to achieve the greatest distance in 2 hours

Get ready for an energetic summer indoor race at Dubai Outlet Mall! On Sunday, 9 August 2026, runners of all ages and fitness levels are invited to lace up and take part in a challenging community race experience.

Proudly supported by the Dubai Sports Council and organized by Peloton Events, the Dubai Outlet Mall Run combines fitness, fun, and a vibrant race atmosphere — all within a comfortable, climate-controlled setting.

Whether you’re chasing a personal best or simply enjoying an active day out, this event promises an unforgettable race day in one of Dubai’s top shopping destinations.

The annual indoor run within the beautiful SeaWorld Yas Island Abu Dhabi will take place on Saturday August 15th, 2026.

Enjoy a fun adventure run that will take you from One Ocean through all the different realms of SeaWorld Abu Dhabi. Run past sea otters at Arctic and sea lions at Rocky Point, discover the world of Micro-Ocean, watch divers within Endless Ocean and be careful not to get splashed by the dolphins in Tropical Ocean.

As always, participants will have the choice of 2.5km, 5km or 10km runs through the air conditioned comfort of the mesmerizing Underwater World.

Please note that all escalators serve as a NEUTRAL ZONE with absolutely NO RUNNING ALLOWED. Anyone failing to follow the race director and marshalls' directions will receive a 15 second penalty for each movement.

Entry fee includes an event t-shirt as well as a finishers' medal for all participants.

Join us for the AIR X Obstacle Course Run powered by SKECHERS. This INDOOR "HYROX" styled event will see participants run 1km then obstacle over a set of inflatables and then repeat this 5/3/1 time(s) to complete your respective race distance.

With obstacles located just a few metres apart, you'll face an intense burst of action before enjoying the 1km run section and returning to tackle the challenge again. Sawadi Wild Swim 3.0 (4km/8km)

The air is already warm as you stand at the edge of the sprawling, shell-strewn sands of Al Sawadi Beach, the waters of the Gulf of Oman invitingly clear and a brilliant turquoise. Your target is the cluster of the 3 centremost dramatic rock islands floating just offshore, known locally as the Sawadi Islands.1 The largest, Jazirat Jabal Al Awd, with its solitary watchtower perched on top, dominates the view and will overlook your 4km/8km Wild Swim.

The Start: Shore to Island (by Boat)

You and other swimmers will depart from the shore by boat to land at your starting beach on the centremost island, Jazirat Maqbarah. The water in the sheltered area is initially calm and shallow, offering a glimpse of the seafloor before deepening. You set a course directly for the main island.

The first kilometer is a steady, rhythmic approach in the clear, temperate water. As you draw closer to the largest island, the water transforms. The sandy bottom is replaced by a vibrant, rocky marine environment. Visibility is excellent, allowing you to appreciate the underwater world for which this area is renowned. You may spot colorful reef fish darting between coral formations.

The Island Circuit: Mid-Swim Panorama

Reaching Jazirat Maqbarah, you begin your circuit heading towards Jazirat Jizayr and then Jazirat Jabal. This is the most scenic part of the swim. The towering, rugged peaks of the islands rise dramatically from the sea, providing a stark, beautiful contrast to the endless blue water. You swim close to the rocky edges and navigating around the small channels and coves that have been carved out by centuries of tide and wind.

This section of the swim is where the "wild" element truly comes alive—it's just you, the open sea, and the raw, natural rock formations. The water around the islands is a hub for marine life, making it a prime spot for snorkeling and diving, and offering an unexpected reward for the long-distance swimmer. Keep an eye out for birds using the rocky islands as a nesting and resting spot.

The Turn and Final Stretch

After completing a wide loop around the most prominent features, you set your sight back towards the starting beach, and return back to the mainland beach by boat.

The final kilometer is a long, gratifying push with the coastline getting progressively clearer. The gentle swell of the Gulf of Oman is likely to be modest, especially during the best swimming months from October to April when the sea is typically calmer and the extreme summer heat has passed. The water temperature during these periods is perfectly comfortable, making for a refreshing yet challenging experience.

You break the surface and wade back onto the golden sands, completing the swim with a spectacular perspective on the serene, picturesque coastline of Barka, having navigated the iconic rock gardens of Al Sawadi.
