My 15+ year practice involves small groups coaching and 1-1 consulting. I've put athletes from zero to a sub- 3:10 marathon level in international events, and train 5&10K specialists. I spent a decade in the USA picking up bicycling and bike racing at a Cat 3 level and now enjoy teaching foundational cycling in Dubai. I offer remote custom training programming through Final Surge, basic and advanced gait analysis in person, and group training during the weekends. If someone needs to work 1-1 with me, I can work out a PT arrangement with them where I would meet them on an oval running track.
My specialty currently is 40-50 year old masters athletes, particularly those from the Indian subcontinent who’d be more comfortable with an Indian coach. Currently under my watch are men and women in this profile.
Why Choose Ron R. George
Coaching Philosophy
I strongly believe that aerobic conditioning is the foundation for all aerobic sports whether in cycling or running. The coaching I offer is based on Arthur Lydiard principles of feelings based training and response regulated adaptation. These are core principles I stick to.
I believe in both evidence based and experiential coaching through staying on top of the latest in research through Pubmed, Researchgate and Twitter.
I follow a strict healthy intelligent (HIT) coaching practice centered around annual health monitoring, periodic performance checks, critical power/critical pace paradigm but most importantly effort-based training, I care about the response to the training from my athletes, not simply looking at whether they did the training or not.
I have gained experience in formulating recipes for periodization from years of personal practice on clients who have used my services and knowledge to prepare for short and long distance races.
