WHY OTION® REIMAGINED THE HAND PADDLE
TO IMPROVE TECHNIQUE
For the majority of swimmers, the best way to get better is to improve their technique. Until this point, paddles have just been about making the arms and shoulders work harder. There has been little focus on making the hand a better shape or improving the pathway the hand and arm takes during the pull phase of the swim stroke. This is the foundation for the design of the Otion® swim paddle.
REAPPRAISING TRAINING AIDS
The hands have been overlooked in swimming for years despite being an important part of swim technique. Many swimmers swim with fingers too far apart or too close together. Developed over 15 years, our unique and patented, restraint free design requires greater hand co-ordination and fine motor control to keep the paddle in position while swimming. This can contribute to improved hand positioning at entry and more efficient propulsion.
BETTER BY DESIGN
Until now hand paddles have generally just been used to make the arms and shoulders stronger. They increase the surface area available at the hand thereby increasing the workload. The Otion® paddle concept, size and form has been engineered, crafted and tested to do this whilst also balancing the need to promote the development of better swim technique.

Swim paddles
Recently tested the Otion paddles. Enjoyed using them and mixing between some of my other paddles. The most significant thing I found was that I could not muscle through a stroke with the paddles. They forced me into a smoother swim stroke where I needed to reach further. If I tried to muscle through the stroke I would lose the paddle due to no straps being on the paddle. Enjoy these paddles and will continue to use in my pool sets.

These paddles come from Dra2ZEro in the UK and were developed in conjunction with swim coach Dan Bullock. They dont just focus on improving upper body strength but help you focus on developing a better more consistent stroke pathway through the catch and the push parts of the stroke. They are easy to put on and if your stroke becomes sloppy they dont stay on. Recommended
